Kayla was the very first client to approach us after we became “GILDED”. She met us for coffee completely armed with ideas of how to make her wedding what became known as …m o o d y m a t r i m o n y. We loved her in an instant.
Having chosen to host the entire event at Mount Ida Farm, just outside of Charlottesville was not only fun for the bridal party, but so easy on our staff. Their on-site accommodations make for a fantastic wedding weekend. We can’t say enough about Tracy and her staff, along with the caterer, The Local. Gilded + Co., gives it 2 thumbs up!
For Brad and Kayla, it was important to have an old world, regal style while maintaining a sense of humor and whimsy. The best way to marry the two styles was to incorporate their love of literature…all things Rowling and Tolkien…with dark, moody florals and elevate it with a touch of rose gold.
Our collection of vintage mirrors and eclectic votives, paired with fantastic rentals from Paisley+Jade (heeey, friends). The couple’s cherished literary quotes were printed, framed and randomly placed around the space, serving as quirky conversation pieces throughout the evening. Tables were styled with greenery galore, wrapped around our collection of vintage hardbacks, surprising the bride with…YES…more books.
We had our entire team with us that weekend in Charlottesville. We worked hard…and if you saw our insta posts, you know we played hard. A huge shout out to Kayla’s parents Jeff and Denise Powell for taking such great care of us (we miss you guys)!!
I have to say, for so many reasons, it was my favorite wedding of the year.
